MASTERWOOD'S SUCCESSFUL WINDOW MAKING OPEN DAYS

Masterwood (UK) Ltd has held a successful series of Open Days at customers' premises around the country.

The three events highlighted the benefits of using Masterwood's CNC machining centres and its specialist software for speedy and accurate window design and manufacture.

They took place on Saturdays during June at All Seasons in Sheerness, Kent:; Woodscope Joinery in Leigh, near Manchester ; and Alan Heavisides in Barnard Castle , County Durham.

Said Masterwood (UK) managing director Russell Corlett: “All three Open Days were well attended with around 40-50 people turning up at each event. We had deliberately scheduled them for Saturdays so as to give busy working joiners the chance to attend on a non-working day."

Interested visitors at one of the three Masterwood Open Days that concentrated on speeding up window making.

Visitors were able to see the latest CNC machining centres equipped with MasterWindow software producing both casement and sliding sash windows.

They are popular with manufacturers who wish to design every type of bespoke and standard window and then immediately obtain cutting lists, a glass cutting list and optimised machining programs, and then go straight into production.

As well as being able to talk to the machines' regular users, Masterwood technical staff were on hand to answer any questions.

Sales were made at each of the three events with more orders received in the days that followed. Masterwood sales staff are now dealing with the large number of enquiries received.

One of the sales made at Sheerness, to Coppendale Joinery of Tonbridge, Kent, was a Project 415 with Masterwood window, stair and door software packages.

Said owner Graham Coppendale: “We make windows as well as general joinery and the machine should be a great benefit. I decided to go with Masterwood because you can get the machine and the specialist software from one company."

Said Russell Corlett: “We were pleasantly surprised with the large number of visitors attending the three events. What was noticeable was that many of them stayed for three to four hours and took a great deal of interest in the machining centres and the MasterWindow software.

“Our sales team is now busy following up on the numerous serious enquiries we have received. Because of the success of the Open Days we shall definitely be holding something similar again next year, perhaps in different parts of the country so as to give yet more people the opportunity to come along."
