Hi-Tech Machinery takes on Masterwood sales in North

Leading woodworking machinery equipment supplier, High-Tech Machinery Ltd, has been awarded the agency for Masterwood CNC machining centres in Northern Ireland.

The Dublin-based company has represented Masterwood in the Irish Republic for almost 15 years, providing sales advice and a highly efficient after sales service.

Said High-Tech Machinery's sales director, Gerry O'Carroll: "We originally took on the Masterwood agency when our business was set up back in 1990 because of their known pedigree. We have had great success in the Republic due to the machines' efficiency, accuracy and reliability.

"They are in use at a growing number of companies in the panel and joinery industries, both large and small. The increase in their popularity can be seen in the large number of repeat orders we are receiving from satisfied customers."

He said that the High-Tech sales team intends to build on and further develop the success already achieved in the North by Masterwood (UK) Ltd's former sales executive, Peter Walker, who has retired.

"We will continue to use the existing locally based Masterwood service engineers to look after the large number of Masterwood machines in use throughout Northern Ireland," said Mr O'Carroll. "They will be now be supported by our three full-time sales engineers who have all been thoroughly trained in the operation of the CNC machining centres and their specialist software."

High-Tech Machinery represents several other leading manufactures of woodworking equipment on both sides of the border, including Viet sanders.

Said Russell Corlett, managing director of Masterwood (UK) Ltd: "When Peter Walker decided to retire earlier this year we looked at the best way of replacing him. We decided that the way forward was for High-Tech Machinery, which has a highly successful track record of selling and supporting Masterwood machines in the Republic, should take over the territory.

"Masterwood customers in Northern Ireland will still receive the same high level of sales and after-care service they have come to expect. This will be now be provided by Hi-Tech's experienced sales team, which includes Masterwood specialist Gerry Doherty."

The latest range of Masterwood CNC panel and joinery machining centres will be highlighted on the High-Tech Machinery stand at the Woodworking Ireland exhibition at Punchestown Event Centre, Co. Kildare, from September 8-10.
