Moorland Windows buys new Masterwood Project 415

Moorland Windows is the one of the first UK joinery manufacturers to buy the new Masterwood Project 415 CNC machining centre.

The Lytham St Annes' business, established in 1969, specialises in making top quality bespoke joinery products for builders and private customers.

As well as producing door sets, the Project is being used to speed up the production of windows and conservatories.

Said the company's owner, Phil Durkin: "The Masterwood, our first CNC, was purchased because of its speed, efficiency and precision. Because it's so flexible and versatile, within a couple of weeks of it arriving we were able to dispense with three traditional joinery machines.

"It's like having a really precise bench hand joiner/machinist available, only much faster. You are only limited by your imagination in what it can do. If you can draw it, the Project can make it"

The Project 415 comes with a pod tubeless system or a matrix bed for nesting. The useable routing stroke in the X axis is 3170mm between the stops; the maximum material thickness that can be machined through in the Z axis is 110mm and is has a Y stroke of 1390mm.

It's also available in a long base version, the 415L, with a useable routing stroke of 5m and providing tandem loading of 2200mm in each zone.
