Trio of New Models and Software from Masterwood

Woodmex – Stand No 20510

Leading panel and joinery CNC machining centre specialist Masterwood will be unveiling three new models plus demonstrating its latest user-friendly software programs.

The revolutionary Atlas KL is billed as a complete joinery in one machine. In addition to its standard tool changer it comes with up to four 320mm diameter tools for tenoning, something no other CNC machining centre is able to offer.

The new Project 416KS is a high-spec CNC machining centre for panel and joinery applications..

Its unique heavy-duty router can support large diameter tools weighing up to 6 kilo, using a special cone attachment.

A complete window, door or stair can be produced on the Atlas KL, which costs about half the price of installing a specialist machinery line.

The Project 416L, for panel and joinery applications including doors and stairs, comes in either a 3.2 or 5.2m long bed version.

It features two eight-post tool changers on the head with the option on both models of fitting a second tool changer on the carriage side. This can hold an additional eight or 14 tools, giving a total of 30 in all. With this configuration it’s possible to change tools whilst the Atlas is still machining.

On the 5.2m long version, designed for use with solid timber, two doors or stairs can be placed on the bed in tandem to make it even more productive.

The entry-level Project 416KS, which becomes the smallest machine in the Project Series, offers all the options found in the larger models.

Intended for panel and joinery applications, it’s available with either a pod or matrix bed and has an extremely high specification. This includes rack and pinion movement, an eight-post carousel type tool changer, with the option of another six-position tool changer that travels with the head, and a 10.5 hp router.

It features an X-axis stroke of 3,000mm, Y-axis stroke of 1,350mm and a 175mm clear passage way in the X-axis. Options include a horizontal router on the carriage side and a C axis on the main router.

Following the popularity of its MasterStair and MasterDoorSet software, Masterwood has introduced a new library of purpose-designed software packages to simplify panel and joinery production.

The MasterTraditionalDoor CAD/CAM package is an easy-to-use software program for use with stile and rail doors incorporating fielded panels. It allows you to design a door and produce a complete set of machining programs in around two minutes.

To speed up the design and production of solid wood windows, Masterwood has introduced MasterWindow. As with its other software packages users are taken step- by-step through the design and setting-up stages prior to the machining of all the frame, sash and facia components. It lets you design and produce windows in a wide variety of sizes and shapes. They include rectangular, half-round arch, sector arch, three centres arch, trapezoid, triangular, full round and oval, plus French windows.

Masterwood’s new MasterPositioningSystem software is capable of positioning seven door elements on the machine bed ready for optimising.

There will also be an example of a horizontal and vertical CNC mortising machine, the popular OMB1-ES2B, which is accurate to .01mm.

Masterwood (UK) Ltd managing director Russell Corlett and his team will be on hand throughout the show to give advice on how you can speed up production and make it less labour intensive and more profitable.
